Latest Information – February 19, 2022

  • Off Site Practices Wednesday and Friday – Riptide will practice off-site on February 23 and 25 due to the Boys’ High School Sections being hosted at BWAC. The schedule is posted on our newsfeed and group calendars have been updated. If you have any questions, please contact your swimmer’s lead coach.
  • End of Season Meets – All entries are being finalized at this time. Boys coming off of their high school season must reach out to their group’s lead coach before February 21 in order to be entered in the Regional Championships. Senior Championship level swimmers must reach out to coach Mike before February 27.
  • The Last Day of the Season – The last day of practice is Thursday, March 3 for those swimmers not moving on to Senior or Age Group State.
  • The Start of the Long Course / Summer Season – Our long course season begins on Monday, April 4! Stay tuned for the practice schedule, however, we do not anticipate any major changes.
  • MNSI Diversity and Disability Camp – Minnesota Swimming is hosting a one day camp for swimmers of our diverse and disability community. The camp is sponsored by MNSI and will take place at St. Catherine University on April 30.   • Clinics – Make sure to check out all of the great clinics going on at Riptide in February!

Regular Reminders

  • Questions – If you have any questions regarding your swimmer, meets, clinics, practices etc. please contact your swimmer’s lead coach in order to get the quickest, most accurate and helpful response (see the list below). The coaches are here to help your child in all areas of their swimming. Make sure to reach out to them! If you have a billing question, contact Cara Pavek - [email protected].
  • Clinic Reminders – Clinic registration can only be done through our website. Do not register for clinics using the TU App. Make sure to read the description for clinics and register your swimmer with the correct roster. Your swimmer will not always be in the same session; it will depend on the clinic roster combinations.
  • Private Lessons: Riptide Coaches are offering 30 and 60 minute private lessons. The winter break may be an ideal time to try and schedule a session. If your swimmer is interested, either contact your lead coach directly or [email protected].
  • Adult Swim Private Lessons, Clinic & Training: Adult Swim Clinic for Triathletes & Masters – Sunday, February 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Group Training Sessions for Triathletes and Masters – Monday and Wednesdays from 6:45 to 8:00 a.m. and/or Tuesday and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The next session begins February 28 (M/W) and March 1 (T/TH) for three weeks. Training sessions will resume the last week in March and continue monthly per interest. $25 / week – billing is monthly. Group Beginner Adult Lessons – 60 minute sessions on Fridays from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. $25 / week – billing is monthly. March session begins March 4 (3-weeks in March). Individual and Small Group Lessons – 30 and 60 minute sessions by appointment. $110 per hour lesson and $65 per 30 minute lesson. For more information – contact Michelle Hopewell at [email protected].

SAFETY PROTOCOLS

  • We still require masks while at BWAC. Fully vaccinated coaches may now remove masks while swimmers are in the water but will wear them during any interactions with the swimmers before or after practices. Thank you for your continued attention to these procedures.
  • Locker rooms are only available for swimmers to use the bathrooms. Exceptions have been made for selected groups and practices.
  • Swimmers should continue to arrive and leave practice in their swim suit.
  • Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should swimmers exhibiting symptoms associated with Covid-19 and/or with a fever of 100.4 or higher attend practices. Please work together to reduce the risk of infection.
  • Current ProtocolsPositive Test - return on day 10 regardless of vaccination status provided person is symptom free. Close Contact Exposure or live with someone who is positive: Unvaccinated - Return on day 7 with a negative test taken on day 5 or later OR return on day 10 without a test. Vaccinated - Return on day 5 or later with a negative test 5+ days after exposure. We will be making additional changes in the coming days / weeks.
