Group Description
Riptide Silver group swimmers will continue to build a strong swimming foundation on proper stroke mechanics while responsibly increasing training yardage. Practices are based on a nurturing, skill-driven and fun atmosphere. There is extensive focus on the competitive swimming components including strokes, starts, turns, underwaters and finishes. All four strokes are thoroughly addressed through stroke drills, basic interval training and beginning endurance work. Swimmers in this group must have a solid base in all four competitive strokes: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle. Practice is offered 3 times per week for 90 minutes and includes 15 minutes of dryland training and conditioning prior to pool time. The age range for this group is 9-12 years old. All swimmers are USA Swimming registered athletes and are required to participate in select USA Swimming sanctioned Meets.
