LATEST INFORMATION

  • MN ACHIEVEMENT CHAMPIONSHIPS – Congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed this weekend in Edina at MAC’s. We are so proud of our Riptide swimmers!!! New qualifying events will be added on Monday to our Regional line-up for next weekend. If you have any questions, please reach out to your swimmer’s lead coach.
  • LAST WEEK OF PRACTICE – Unless your swimmer has qualified for State Championships and beyond, this Thursday (7/14) will be their last practice. We will have an Age Group State practice schedule out shortly to those families who have swimmers attending that meet. Senior Elite swimmers will continue to attend their regular practices.
  • REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS – We will have more details on MRC’s in the coming days. Make sure to check the meet page. Riptide will provide three tents for the swimmers but we are looking for two more tents. Parents help will be needed for set-up on Friday and take-down on Sunday. Thank you in advance!
  • CHAMPIONSHIP T-SHIRTS - Every family will be charged $15 for the Championship t-shirt, and every swimmer should pick it up regardless of their participation in the Championship meets. Tees that are not collected up by Thursday July 14 will not be held for your swimmers, UNLESS the family  is still on vacation. Please contact Coach Olga directly in this case. Hand out times for the week of July 11: M-TH 4:30-5:15pm. Please note: Parents can pick up a t-shirt for their swimmer. If your swimmer does not swim during the time tees are being distributed please stop by BWAC to pick it up during the hand out times.  
  • CLINIC UPDATE - We have only TWO spots left for a 5 day clinic. Please register before the deadline on July 17. Please fill out the form below by July 17 if your swimmer is interested in participating in a single day option:  https://forms.gle/r3QbXfsXEDa8QJgB7. All of the interested families in the single day option will be communicated on July 18.

REGULAR REMINDERS

  • Questions – If you have any questions regarding your swimmer, meets, clinics, practices etc. please contact your swimmer’s lead coach in order to get the quickest, most accurate and helpful response (see the list below). The coaches are here to help your child in all areas of their swimming. Make sure to reach out to them! If you have a billing question, contact Cara Pavek – [email protected]
  • Stroke and Turn Officials - Anyone interested in learning to become a USA Swimming Stroke and Turn Official - please contact Wendy Peterson at [email protected].  
  • Summer Storms – For all outdoor practices this summer, we will notify families 1 hour before the start of practice. Additionally, we have back-up indoor practice time scheduled in case we get stormed out. We encourage all Riptide families to allow coaches to use the texting option in your Team Unify account.
  • COVID – Positive case numbers have been going up these last few weeks. Please be extra vigilant in terms of monitoring your children and testing. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should swimmers exhibiting symptoms associated with Covid-19 and/or with a fever of 100.4 or higher attend practices. Please work together to reduce the risk of infection.
  • Current Covid Protocols: Positive Test - return on day 10 regardless of vaccination status provided person is symptom free. Close Contact Exposure or live with someone who is positive: Unvaccinated - Return on day 7 with a negative test taken on day 5 or later OR return on day 10 without a test. Vaccinated - Return on day 5 or later with a negative test 5+ days after exposure. 
  • Private Lessons - Riptide Coaches are offering 30 and 60 minute private lessons. If your swimmer is interested, either contact your lead coach directly or [email protected].
  • Adult Swim Training & Private Lessons - Group Training Sessions for Triathletes and Masters; Group Beginner Adult Lessons; and Individual and Small Group Lessons – will resume at the end of June as the schedule changes for the summer months. For more information – contact Michelle Hopewell at [email protected].
